Israel’s high court ruled that the illegal neighborhood of Ulpana in
the settlement of Beit El. The neighborhood is built on land owned by
Palestinians. This, despite requests from Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu to postpone the decision. Settlers say the neighborhood will
not be evacuated and are pressuring the government to pass a law that
will get around the high court decision.
The 18th Knesset seems set to disperse a year and half before its
original tenure was supposed to end after a Knesset committee voted to
dissolve the knesset.
A new movie spoofing the hit on Hamas operative Mabchouch in dubai a
year and a half ago allegedly carried out by the mossad is starring
Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli s/u. Refaeli said it was always her
life dream to be a mossad agent. The mossad agents in the real
incident were caught on security cameras. The director is French
Israeli. The entire film was shot in Eilat. Refaeli plays an agent who
attempts to seduce Mabchouch. The movie is set to be released next
year.

Sixteen and a half years after he was convicted of involvement in the
murder of former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, Hagai Amir – the
brother of assassin Yigal Amir – left Ayalon Prison a free man on
Friday morning. Upon leaving the prison gates, Amir made a `V` sign
with his hand, and told reporters: "I am proud of what I did. I have
no regrets."
Amir`s parents and a few relatives waited for him outside the Ramle
prison, alongside a number of left-wing demonstrators from Meretz and
the Working Youth Movement, who protested Amir`s release and his
failure to express remorse.
The 43-year-old Amir was convicted of conspiracy to commit a crime and
unlawful possession of a firearm. Amir spent his entire sentence in
solitary confinement
Iran will never suspend its uranium enrichment program and there is no
justification to close the Fordo underground site, an Iranian envoy
said on Friday, making clear Tehran`s red lines in talks with world
powers later this month.
Officials said they still don`t know the source of the chlorine-like
smell that caused a scare among hundreds of thousands of residents in
central Israel, but some reports suggest the foul smell was a result
of a military drill.
Environmental Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan said that according to
samples taken by Ministry officials, the unknown substance did not
pose any danger to residents and that a police investigation was under
way.
Participants at last year`s annual "Cycling for Peace" outing, which
was dedicated to Gilad Shalit, scarcely expected that the then-captive
IDF soldier would take part in this year`s race
But on Friday Shalit lead the 35-km ride, which departed from his home
in Mitzpe Hila and continued to the Lily Sharon Park in Acre.

Former Kadima leader Tzipi Livni resigned from the Knesset on Tuesday,
warning in her resignation address that Israel`s leaders are putting
the country`s existence at risk by choosing to ignore the mounting
impatience on the part of the international community.
Livni submitted her resignation to Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, in a
meeting that put an end to the wide spread speculation that she would
resign following a decisive loss to Shaul Mofaz at the Kadima primary
in March.
Livni said she didn`t regret the decisions that may have brought on
her political downfall, saying she wasn`t "sorry for not backing down
in the face of political blackmail, even when the price was staying
outside the government, and for not being willing to sell the country
to the ultra-Orthodox.
Speaking at the first meeting of his Yesh Atid Party at the Diaspora
Museum in Tel Aviv Tuesday, Yair Lapid outlined his five-year plan to
make IDF service compulsory for the country`s Ultra-Orthodox.
According to the plan, for a period of five years the Ultra-Orthodox
sector will receive an exemption from military service, but unlike
today will be permitted to join the work force. At the end of the five
years, the exemption will come to an end at every citizen will be
drafted at age 18 for military or national service.
A former Israeli official admitted to providing Foreign Minister
Avigdor Lieberman with classified information concerning his ongoing
graft investigation, an indictment submitted by the State Prosecutor`s
Office indicated on Tuesday.
The investigation of Lieberman`s alleged conduct relates to the period
between 2001 and 2008, during which time various businessmen are
suspected of transferring millions of dollars to companies under his
control.
The State Comptroller, Micha Lindenstrauss, presented his annual
report to Knesset on Tuesday, the final one of its kind before he
retires from office in July.
Lindenstrauss noted that his final annual report places "special
emphasis" on health issues. The report includes a particularly
scathing chapter slamming the Health Ministry for wasting huge sums of
public money.
12 year old Noa wientzweig celebrated her bat mitzvah and recived a
total of 50,000 shekels.he decided to take the money and organize a 3
day trip for a group of unpriviliged holocaust survivors. President
shimon peres thanked noa for her great mitzvah.
Moran samuel who participated in the disabled championships in italy
won a gold medal in the rowing competition but unfortunately someone
forgot to bring a recording of the israeli anthem hatikva. Moran
didn’t lose her cool grabbed a microphone and sang the anthem on the
podium.
