7 activities to do with kids during the Passover holiday in IsraelPassover is here and your kids are not in school. Here are 7 activities to enjoy with the family over the vacation- from free museums to a Brazilian circus.
Free museums-Every year for Passover, Israeli Bank Hapoalim sponsors free entrance to over 40 museums and visiting sites in Israel. Some of these museums include the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Rabin Center and the Israel Museum. In the city of Haifa, one can visit the Ghetto Fighters Museum, the National Maritime Museum or even the Haifa Zoo. In addition, there are many different museums in Jerusalem (Armored Corps Museum, Bible Lands Museum, etc.) and the south of Israel.
Automotor Motor Show- The Automotor is Israel’s international motor event, which has been taking place for the past 29 years. The show presents the world’s newest vehicles from the past, present and future car industry. This year’s event will be based on the theme of ‘motoric innovations’ and will include new technologies, designs and more. The show takes place in the Tel Aviv Convention Center.
Enjoy a picnic- Find a quiet spot in the peaceful Biriya Forest in the north, the Sataf forest in the Jerusalem Mountains, Ramat Menashe Park close to HaShofet River, Canada Park and many more amazing places. Remember to bring lots of food!
Visit one of Israel’s beaches- Israel is beginning to warm up at this time of year. Although not unique for Passover, visit one of the beaches and enjoy the incredible sunset.
Take your kids to one of the Israel Nature and Parks Authority’s Passover events-The Israel Nature and Parks Authority offers many events throughout Passover. Experience the history of Caesarea with the spectacular horse show in the Caesarea hippodrome. Go back to the Roman period in the ancient city of Beit Guvrin and watch a gladiator battle on April 17. If your kids love animals, visit the Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve until April 15 and join a guided tour along with the possibility of feeding the animals.
Brazilian circus- Throughout Passover, Brazilian circus Jumping to Brazil will be performing in Israel along with some of the most talented performers and acrobats in the world. The circus will be in Israel until April 17.
Visit Ktofoti in northern Israel- Ktofoti is a unique agricultural experience, combining self-harvesting of a large variety of fruits and vegetables with activities for groups and families in the fields of Bethlehem of Galilee. Open between 09:00-16:00 (last entrance at 14:00) with an entrance fee of 40 Shekels (11 dollars).
