1000 israelis took their clothes off to participate in a photography session of world renowned photographer spencer tunic, famed for his mass nude photographs at landmarks around the world.
Many of the participants called it a mystical experience. Religious parties tried to put a stop to the event but were unsuccessful, but tunic was intent on holding the event to publicize the perilous state of the dead sea, which is in danger of drying up.
Tunic has been photographing tens of thousands of people all over the worldwithout their clothes for the past twenty years. Tunic also helps to raise awareness for the dead sea in the vote for the new seven wonders of the world.
He’s been arrested several times, but he himself has never undressed. s/u Ron says the nudity here is far from pornography, that is an experience he hopes they’ll be talking about even when they’re in an old age home. Many of the participants say it was easier than expected for them to take their clothes off. This woman says she didn’t run into anyone she knows but that she wouldn’t have minded if she did. Ttunic this participant said the event returned his hope for the future.
