Depeche Mode is scheduled to arrive in Israel this May to kick off their world tour

Six years after cancelling their performance at the last minute due to the Second Lebanon War, three years after their last appearance in Tel Aviv, Depeche Mode is scheduled to arrive in Israel this May to kick off their world tour.  Crowds just can’t get enough of the group from Essex, England, s/u  It’s been 32 years since Dave, Martin and Andy began playing together.

Their style is considered electro-pop.  Success hit the band hard, and drugs and addiction followed their initial success. Now, at the age of 50, they say it is all behind them.  They’ve branched off to solo careers,  but they understand that they still have room to play together. s/u the Tel Aviv fan club is one of the largest in Europe.

As mentioned, they cancelled their tour in 2006 due to the Second Lebanon War. 40 thousand tickets had to be returned. Three years later, the band was set to arrive again, but Andy Fletcher’s father died the same day. The show must go on, but the atmosphere was gloomy. Dave Gahan also fell ill the same day. s/u they’re currently working on a new album.
