Israelis celebrated Purim at 10th annual Manga-Anime convention

Israel’s 2017 Harucon Convention of Anime and Manga was held yesterday in Jerusalem. Every year, the convention coincides with Purim. This was the third year in a row that the event was held in Israel’s capital city.

Yesterday (Sunday), the 2017 Harucon Convention of Anime and Manga was held in Jerusalem, coinciding with Purim celebrations throughout the country. The annual convention was held at Jerusalem’s International Convention Center.

The convention was organized by the Association for Manga and Anime in Israel. According to the event’s website, the convention featured various attractions including lectures, workshops, panels, booths, movie screenings and a cosplay competition.

This was the 10th time that the convention has been held in Israel. It was initially held in 2008 at Tel Aviv University. The following year and the year after that, the event was held in Giv’at Shmuel. From 2011 to 2014, the convention was held in Rishon LeZion. This year was the 3rd time that it was held in Jerusalem. The event always coincides with the Purim holiday.
