Dozens of Gaza settlement evacuees still awaiting permanent housingA State Comptroller's Office inquiry has found that 164 families who were evacuated from their homes during the 2005 pullout from Gaza are still living in temporary homes.
Dozens of Israeli families who were evacuated from their homes in Gaza settlements in 2005 are still awaiting permanent housing, according to the State Comptroller's Office.
A comprehensive inquiry into the matter, requested by Zionist Union MK Stav Shaffir, has found that 164 families who are eligible for new housing are still living in temporary homes.
MK Shaffir also claims that Tnufa, the government office responsible for taking care of the evacuees, has failed to report how it spent 3.5 billion shekels of its budget.
Agricultural Minister Uri Ariel, whose ministry is in charge of Tnufa, has dismissed MK Shaffir's claims, calling them "ridiculous."
