Innovate. Invest. Israel. That was the name of the conference in which Israel tried to encourage investors from around the world to invest in Israel, despite all the challenges facing the country.  The conference was put together by the Israeli finance ministry and sponsored by the wall street journal. Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz was the keynote speaker.

Some 200 businesspeople from Israel and abroad participated, which cost around a million dollars. One of the key figures: media mogul Rupert Murdoch.  One of the hot topics of the conference was the natural gas discovered off the coast of Israel. The heads of some of Israel’s largest companies arrived, including Bank Hapoalim. Government representatives told the participants about all kinds of incentives for people doing business in Israel.
