Apple is mostly famous for its phones and laptops, which have dominated the market for over a decade. However, several days ago, the technology giant received a permit that will allow it to test self-driving cars in California.

Last Friday, the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) released an updated list with the names of all the companies allowed to test autonomous vehicles. Now, Apple sits on the list along with companies such as Ford and General Motors. According to the California DMV, the permit was given for three 2015 Lexus RX450h vehicles, the same model that Google uses for its own program.
