An Israeli official stated that the Dutch MP of Turkish Muslim origin “refused to shake hands with Netanyahu and asked about the situation of the Palestinians in Gaza.” According to him, the Prime Minister replied and answered that the cement that was transferred to Gaza, was being used to build terror tunnels instead of reconstructing the coastal strip.

More than 300 IDF rescue personnel, most of whom are reservists, were at the scene. The rescue workers believe that there was still a chance to find the missing people who were apparently located on the lowest level of the underground parking garage. The mayor of Netanya, Miriam Feirberg, was arrested on Wednesday after an hours-long interrogation under caution on suspicion she had taken bribes, as police ramped up a probe of suspected high-level corruption in the city. She was brought before a judge for a remand hearing to extend her arrest by 10 days. The development came two days after her son, Tzafrir Feiberg , was arrested in the case, along with three others. Four additional suspects were arrested Wednesday, including a deputy mayor, two contractors, and another person said to be close to a senior municipal official. Officials in the coastal city and contractors are suspected of bribery, fraud, money laundering and tax offenses involving millions of shekels. Police suspect senior city officials and their associates worked to promote the interests of contractors and entrepreneurs in exchange for bribes and other benefits. Municipal officials allegedly did not report their conflicts of interest in dealing with the contractors.
