  • Hundreds of Israeli-Arab protesters march against Muezzin Law
  • Police still searching for Petah Tikva murder suspect
  • Trump appoints new CIA chief, meets with Israeli ambassador

Hundreds of Israeli-Arabs in the city of Kafr Qasim marched on Friday in protest against the government's plan to pass the controversial Muezzin Law, which calls to ban the use of loudspeakers in mosques. The protesters said the law was proposed as part of an ongoing incitement against the Arab population. Adel Badir, the mayor of Kafr Qasim, said they will not give up their fundamental right to prayer.

Police are still searching for a suspect from Petah Tikva who stabbed and killed a 27-year old man during a fight outside a local pub. The victim's younger brother was also stabbed and was seriously injured.

US President-elect Donald Trump is continuing to appoint his staff members. On Friday it was reported that Trump had selected Representative Mike Pompeo as head of the CIA and Senator Jeff Sessions as his Attorney General. He has also met with Ron Dermer, the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, who sounded optimistic about the joint work with the new American administration.
