The municipality of Haifa and the police announced on Friday that it was safe for all residents of Haifa to return to their homes. Authorities estimated that about 700 homes were currently uninhabitable due to heavy fire damage.30 to 40 buildings were considered dangerous. Although the fire was renewed in some locations, firefighting forces gained control over the flames.

Meanwhile Israel continued to battle fires in different parts of the country on Friday, with the latest outbreak reported in the Jerusalem hills near the settlement of Nataf and Kibbutz Maale Hamisha. Many firefighting teams have been scrambled to the scene, including 20 planes. The planes dispatched from neighboring countries and other allies of Israel are also said to be en route to the site.police reported that none of the houses in Ma’ale Hahamisha or in Nataf were in danger at this time and that the forces were working hard to gain control on the fire before nightfall.
