Rony Keidar began crying when she got a text message from her good friend Maha, a 30 year old resident of Gaza

Maha described how her house was damaged by Israeli shelling, and wished Rony that she looked after herself and her grandchildren. 

Rony and Maha have become close over the past year, when Rony, a member of an aid organization, helped transport Maha and her two nephews to a hospital in Tel Aviv for treatment.  Maha was very reluctant to have her conversation broadcast. She asked that her full name and picture not be used.  Rony says her friends are not angry at her for maintaining a relationship with a woman from Gaza. She says instead they pity her, saying she is naïve.
