How many Jews immigrated to Israel in the 5776 Jewish year?

As the Jewish new year approaches, the Israeli Population Immigration and Border Authority reviewed the changes that the Israeli society experienced from Tishrei to Elul 5776. In the past Jewish year, over 26,000 Jews from all over the world immigrated to Israel.

Just a few days before the next Jewish year begins, Israel’s Population, Immigration and Border Authority released new data that shows that changes the Israeli society experienced from Tishrei to Elul 5776. According to the date, in the past Jewish year, 186,923 babies were born in Israel.

In the past Jewish year, 45,033 people died in Israel. The large gap between the number of births and the number of deaths contributed to the fertility rate in Israel, which is considered one of the highest in the Western world.

The Population, Immigration and Border Authority also discovered that 82,315 people were married in the country during the last Jewish year and 23,855 people got divorced.

In addition, the Population, Immigration and Border Authority said that the number of new immigrants increased over the past year as 26,990 Jews from all over the world immigrated to Israel.
