The Israeli Health Ministry announced on Sunday new directives related to Israel’s medical cannabis reforms. The ministry stated that it will now take less time for a patient to receive the necessary authorization to possess and use medical marijuana.
In addition, authorized users will now be allowed to consume the drug as an oil or as a vapor in public. While the new directives, which went into effect immediately yesterday, are designed to ease the regulations on the use of medical marijuana, the ministry is taking steps in order to prevent people who are not sick from being exposed to medical cannabis.

The directives were approved by Israeli Health Minister Ya'akov Litzman, who is advancing national medical cannabis reforms. As most of the reforms have not gone into effect yet, Litzman decided to shorten the waiting period for a medical cannabis permit.
