16-year-old Palestinian attempted to enter Cave of the Patriarchs with knife

A 16-year-old Palestinian was arrested in Hebron after Israel Border Police officers discovered that he was carrying a knife. The Palestinian was trying to avoid the security inspection at the entrance to the Cave of the Patriarchs.

A young Palestinian carrying a knife was arrested by Israel Border Police officers on Monday morning when he arrived at the Cave of the Patriarchs security checkpoint. The 16-year-old Hebron resident had hidden the knife in his pants.

The Israel Border Police said in a statement that the suspect had caught the attention of the officers at the scene because he was trying to avoid the security inspection. Last night, gunshots were fired at an IDF post near Ramallah. No damage or injuries were reported. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated that the gunshots were fired from inside a vehicle and that the bullet casings were found in the area.
