4 leaders of the Islamic Movement and Murabitun Movement in the North of Israel were arrested over the past 2 months in a Shin Bet and police operation. Today (Sunday), indictments were filed against them in the Nazareth District Court for offenses of unlawful association, prohibition of operating property for terrorist use and money laundering.

The 4 worked to maintain Murabitun’s activities even after it was declared illegal. 6 Murabitun North district leaders were also arrested.

During their investigation, information was attained that the accused were operating a recruitment and payment network to Murabitun activists, including driving services across the country to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, where the monetary transactions happened.

The violent operations of the Murabitun Movement in the Temple Mount harmed visiting tourists and caused an escalation of tensions and disturbances.

Following these activities between 2014-2016, all bodies financing the movement were declared illegal under unlawful association. Thus the Northern Islamic Movement was declared illegal as Murabitun’s operator.
