Amona citizens outraged at relocation solutionCitizens of the disputed settlement of Amona are outraged at the decision to relocate them temporarily. They will only accept the legislation of the Regulation Law.
Last night (Monday), Israel Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit announced the accreditation of 3 areas for those who live in the settlement of Amona, thus approving the outline of the solution proposed by the government. The 3 areas were accredited as part of the Absentee Property solution and are located next to the homes that will be evacuated at the end of next month.
According to the plan, the areas will serve as a temporal solution for 8 months while property will be built to house those evacuated in accordance to the Supreme Court’s decision from 2 years ago.

“The solution offered by Mandelblit is not a solution for the citizens of Amona,” stated the anti-evacuation of Amona headquarters. “The plan is ridiculous and demeaning coming from the eyes of someone who doesn’t care about the dozens of families and hundreds of children who have built a life here for the past 20 years.”
The headquarters stated that the only acceptable solution is the legislation of the Regulation Law. “We are not objects that can be tossed from place to place every few months,” they stated. “We will not consent to being moved from our home only to get dumped again. There are only 2 options left- the legislation of the Regulation Law that will prevent a terrible injustice or a forced and painful evacuation of hundreds of Jews from their home.”
This week, the Israel Police has began training for the planned evacuation. The training includes all scenarios, even the possibility of a violent attempt to stop the evacuation by the residents of Amona along with hundreds of other settlers.
