Anti-deportation protesters vandalize Tel Aviv immigration officeChopped-off doll heads drenched in red paint were placed by unknown individuals on Saturday at the entrance to the Population and Immigration Authority offices in Tel Aviv.
Unknown individuals on Saturday placed doll heads drenched in blood-like red paint at the entrance to the Population and Immigration Authority offices in Tel Aviv as a way of protesting the government's plan to deport African asylum seekers.
The protesters also placed notes saying, "Their blood is on your hands" and "This is only the beginning." Police said the investigation into the incident will be prioritized because it targeted a government office.
Israel's Interior Minister Aryeh Deri called the act "a dangerous move done by lawbreakers who are trying to intimidate the workers ... using threats and violence."
This incident comes amid a growing public awareness campaign against the planned deportation of African asylum seekers, which has attracted the support of artists, pilots and teachers.
