Olmert makes first public appearance since release from jail
Attorney General Mandelblit says probes involving Netanyahu 'well in progress'Avichai Mandelblit said the probes involving PM Netanyahu are progressing smoothly, adding that more information will be revealed to the public when it can no longer harm the investigations.
Israel's Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit said Wednesday that the probes involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are progressing, with information being collected both in Israel and abroad.
Mandelblit said the two major probes involving Netanyahu, known as Case 1,000 and Case 2,000, are being dealt with by "police investigators, the State Attorney's Office and various legal advisors who specialize in issues that are coming up in the probes."
Speaking at a CPA convention in Eilat, Mandelblit said he would reveal more information to the public "when it is possible."
"There have been several reports about the outcome of the investigations, but in order for the investigations to run smoothly, those reports shouldn't be verified or unverified as of now," Mandelbit said, "because that might open a door to leaks of information which might harm the investigations, or prepare suspects for upcoming questionings."
