A woman from Tira called the police today (Friday) and reported that her nine-month-old baby had died at home from apparently choking. The police, however, suspect that the caretaker is involved in the baby's death and arrested her for questioning.

The mother reported that the baby passed at home sometime after eating, but in the course of the investigation, a completely different story emerged. According to the police’s preliminary investigation, the baby died at daycare and under the caretaker’s responsibility.

It was also reported that the caretaker had coerced the mother into telling the police the baby died at home, threatening her so she would not report the truth.

The daycare worker, a 30-year-old woman, was arrested along with another individual. The two will be brought to court today to extend their remand.
