On Tuesday, Brazil Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes arrived in Israel and began his trip with a visit to Yad Vashem and a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the Israeli Prime Minister’s office, the meeting began with both counties’ ambassadors signing a “social insurance agreement that provides for the status of social rights (including pensions) for Israeli and Brazilian nationals while they are in the other country.”

The two reportedly discussed “deepening bilateral cooperation in—inter alia—security, education, culture and academia.” Netanyahu expressed his appeal to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Netanyahu further stated, “Israel is greatly interested in ties with Brazil and believes in their latent potential.” Nunes followed by inviting Netanyahu for a visit to Brazil.

Nunes, as mentioned above, visited Yad Vashem Holocaust museum and paid tribute to the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust.
