Former Chief Rabbi convicted of fraud
Bris for terror victim’s grandson held at scene of attackThe Hasno family celebrated the brit milah (bris) for the newest addition to the family on Wednesday. The ceremony was conducted at an unusual place: the scene where Asher Hasno, the baby’s grandfather, was murdered in a terror attack.
The brit milah (bris) ceremony for the new grandson of Asher Hasno, who was murdered in a terror attack, took place on Wednesday at the Al Fawar junction, the same place where a Palestinian terrorist ran over Hasno in 2015. The Hasno family contacted the IDF after the birth and asked to hold the ceremony at the scene and the military granted their request. “At the place where Dad was murdered, we are sanctifying and continuing life,” said Hasno’s daughter.
Ruti, Hasno’s widow, said that she is putting the pain of her loss aside today in order to celebrate the new life that her daughter and son-in-law have brought into the world. The baby was named after his grandfather, whom he will never meet.

In October 2015, 54-year-old Hasno, a Kiryat Arba resident, was driving on Route 60 near the junction. When Palestinians suddenly started to throw stones at his car, Hasno exited his vehicle and then a truck sped toward him, running him over. The truck driver fled the scene.
