Brushfire erupts near Ma'ale HaHamisha, police say homes not in danger

A large brushfire erupted Friday afternoon near Kibbutz Ma'ale HaHamisha in the Judean hills. Firefighters and planes were rushed to the scene. Police stated that there is currently no danger to any of the homes.

Earlier, a fire that broke out in the Galilee led the police to evacuate local residents. Another fire broke out near the Kiryat Gat overpass on Highway 6. Police blocked parts of the road and train service was halted temporarily.
