Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport is preparing for the arrival of dozens of world leaders who will attend Shimon Peres’ funeral at Mount Herzl. Approximately 80 high ranking foreign officials, including presidents, prime minister, ministers, heads of parliament, ambassadors and other representatives from all over the world, will arrive in Israel via private planes.

Clinton asked that upon his arrival in Israel, he be escorted to the Knesset building in Jerusalem in order to pay his respects to Peres, just like thousands of Israelis have been doing since 9:00 AM today. Clinton and Peres had a very close relationship that lasted for several decades. Clinton was greeted by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein outside the Knesset building where Peres’ casket lies in state. The three placed wreaths on Peres’ casket.
