An avalanche has caused the famous Lot's Cave near the Dead Sea to collapse and blocked its entrance. Though it is believed that there are no people trapped inside, rescue teams have been sent to the scene to verify this assessment.

This assessment is based on two main givens: the fact that no parked cars were located in the area and the testimony of a family that was inside the cave when it started to collapse, and managed to escape in time, who told authorities they had not seen other people there with them.
