As reported by JOL, severe measures were taken by El Al’s pilots that led to cancelations and delays of numerous flights. However, Channel 2 News received information that agreements were reached in negotiations last night (Monday) regarding most of the issues. Union Chairman Avi Nisenkorn assisted in mediating the meeting.

According to the agreements, the pilots are expected to receive a raise of 7.5 percent in addition to individual salary benefits. These include additional payments of a 7-and-a-half hour flight in case the pilot’s layover abroad is shortened.

In return, the pilots agreed to permanently shorten layover times abroad. In addition, the company’s management will stop leasing the aircraft and its team to other companies, the reason that the battle started in the first place. The company stated that an agreement was also reached between the management and groundcrew.

Only minor differences remain and are expected to be resolved in the upcoming days. The management is expected to ask for “industrial peace” and an immediate cessation of the split flights policy (one way flights) in return for the salary raise.
