Shortly after a parking garage collapsed today (Monday) in the Ramat HaHayal neighborhood of Tel Aviv, search and rescue teams flocked to the scene and immediately began searching for construction workers who were trapped underneath the rubble.

Yisrael, a United Hatzalah rescue worker, talked to Channel 2 News about the complex missions the teams conduct: “The feeling is scary because at any moment, another wall can just fall on you.”

“The rescue is also conducted with special engineering tools and with precautions,” continued Yisrael. “The goal is to establish contact with the wounded. There isn’t a lot of air down there, there is dust and sand. Every movement is planned in advance in order to prevent another more damage.”
