Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was evacuated from prison to Tel HaShomer Hospital today (Tuesday) after complaining to an Israel Prison Service commander about not feeling well. The possibility that a cardiac event may have occurred is being evaluated and Olmert is currently stable.

The commander ordered a doctor to Olmert’s cell at Maasiyahu Prison, as Olmert had complained of having chest pains.

Two days ago, the Israel Prison Service Release Committee met in order to discuss Olmert’s request for early release. In the beginning of the discussion, it became clear that the Israel Police’s recommendation fell through and turned to recommend that Olmert’s sentence not be shortened.
