The Israeli settlement of Halamish woke up this morning (Sunday) to another sad day as they prepare to lay to rest three members of the Salomon family. According to the residents, they complained about security dangers prior to the attack. The sister of the off-duty IDF soldier who neutralized the terrorist said: “We want the same sense of safety that we deserve, just like every citizen in the country.”

Halamish residents explained that they had contacted the security forces regarding the road adjacent to the community’s fence several times, complaining that it endangers their safety. “Eight months ago, 15 homes in the settlement were set on fire by Molotov cocktails that were thrown over the fence,” they said. “The terrorist apparently come to the community by car and then snuck in through a hole in the fence.”

Regarding her brother, she said: “We are very proud of him for what he did. We think that he also understood himself that he acted exactly as he needed to.”
