In September, a Hamas member from Shuja’iyya was arrested when he crossed the border into Israel. It was cleared for publication on Thursday that during his interrogation, he admitted that he took part in Hamas training and dug tunnels for the terrorist group.

23-year-old Ahmad Majdi Mohammad Abid joined the terrorist group in 2013. He underwent anti-tank missile, combat engineering and sniper training. In addition, he was a member of a Hamas border patrol team.

The Shin Bet stated that Abid provided detailed information about Hamas’ tunnel activities in Gaza during his questioning. “His interrogation revealed once again Hamas’ terrorist activities in the tunnel field that are aimed at advancing terrorist acts against the State of Israel,” the Shin Bet added. An indictment charging him with serious security offenses was filed a month ago.
