Hamas terrorists charged for planning West Bank shooting attack
Shin Bet arrests Hamas student leader who received funds from terrorists in TurkeyThe Shin Bet has released the identity of the terror suspect who was arrested in March at a Palestinian university. The security agency stated that 24-year-old Omar Kiswani, the leader of the Hamas student group at Birzeit University, received funds from terrorists in Gaza and Turkey to promote Hamas’ activities on campus.
It was cleared for publication on Thursday that Omar Kiswani was the terror suspect who was arrested in March at Birzeit University. The 24-year-old is the head of Hamas’ student group on campus. The Shin Bet stated that Kiswani was in contact with Yassin Rabi’a, a Hamas terrorist who was expelled to Gaza as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange, and Turkey-based Hamas members in order to receive money for the Hamas activities on campus.
According to the Shin Bet, Rabi’a transferred €150,000 to Kiswani by hiding the cash in several locations in the West Bank. Kiswani and another Hamas member, Yahya Alawi, collected the money and used it to promote the terrorist group’s presence at the university.

Footage of Kiswani’s arrest was released on March 8. In the video, special Israel Border Police officers, disguised as journalists, are seen apprehending Kiswani as students begin to gather around them.
