Winter is here: Floods in Tel Aviv and north, snow piles up on Mount Hermon

The rain is expected to ease gradually over Friday until clearing away completely by the beginning of next week.

Much-needed rain has finally arrived, and it is expected to continue on Friday from northern Israel to the Negev. Floods were reported overnight in Tel Aviv and the Galilee. On Mount Hermon, snow has begun to pile up.

Authorities have recorded about 100 millimeters of precipitation in some parts of the Golan Heights over the past 24 hours. In central Israel, it has reached about 80 millimeters. The Kinneret water level has risen 4 centimeters.

Later on Friday, the rain will gradually ease but temperatures will remain low.
