Just a day after the US Department of Transportation announced that Galaxy Note 7 smartphones have been banned from planes traveling to or from the US, Israel issued a similar statement. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Israeli Transportation Ministry announced today (Sunday) that passengers traveling from and to Israel are no longer allowed to board their flights with these devices. The ban came into effect yesterday at 12:00 PM.

This decision comes a few days after the South Korean technology giant announced that it is temporarily halting the production of the smartphones and began a total recall. Earlier this morning, JOL reported that the US Department of Transportation was not the first to ban the Galaxy Note 7 from flights. Singapore Airlines released an announcement earlier yesterday stating that the smartphone has been banned from its flights. Other airline companies are expected to release similar statements.
