Israel woke up today (Wednesday) to another day of fires. The strong winds overnight have rekindled the flames in Zikhron Ya'akov, calling dozens of firefighter teams back to the scene. Police stated that residents will not be allowed back to their homes until at least Thursday. The fire near Dolev has reached the settlement, causing 3 buildings to catch fire. Many forces are on site trying to prevent the fire from spreading any further. A bushfire has also started near Nahariya but was quickly contained. However, another bushfire has started near Nataf in the Judean Mountains.

The fire near Nataf started today at around 9:00AM. The fire is spreading quickly due to the strong winds, putting the safety of the settlement at risk. Forces are there to battle the flames but the evacuation of houses and educational establishments has begun as a precaution.

After assessing the situation in Zikhron Ya'akov, the following decision was made: "Due to the winds and the risk of the fire rekindling, the neighborhoods that were evacuated are to remain so. No one is to return to their home until further notice." The police have barricaded the entrances to those neighborhoods for all but firefighting and rescue forces.

In the past 48 hours, several fires were reported throughout the country. Yesterday, a blaze in Atlit threatened students at a school in the town.
