Boxes containing material for assembling bombs were captured by Israeli authorities last week at a border crossing into Gaza. The material has been transferred to a lab for examination and a security probe has been launched.

The material was found hidden among medical equipment. It is said to be a central component in the making of explosive devices and rockets in the Gaza Strip.

The detection of the material was done in a chemical testing lab installed several months ago at the Kerem Shalom Crossing in southern Israel. In November, the lab detected a truckload of explosive material en route to Gaza.
