Israeli policemen murdered in Old City attack named as Haiel Sitawe, Kamil Shnaan

The officers were shot at Lion's Gate by three Israeli-Arab terrorists. Haiel Sitawe's wife gave birth to his first-born son just weeks ago. Kamil Shnaan's father was a Labor MK.

The two Israeli police officers who were murdered in Friday morning's terror attack in Jerusalem's Old City have been named as Sgt. Haiel Sitawe (30) from Maghar and Sgt. Kamil Shnaan (22) from Hurfeish.

Sitawe and Shnaan were among the Israelis shot at Lions' Gate by three Israeli-Arab terrorists. A third police officer was badly injured and taken to Shaare Zedek hospital.

Earlier, the three terrorists were identified as Ahmad Mohammed Jabarin (29), Mohammed Hamed Abdal-Latif Jabarin (19) and Mohammad Ahmad Fadel Jabarin (19) from Umm al-Fahm.

Sitawe served in the IDF Border Police and later joined the force as a patrol officer on Temple Mount. His wife gave birth to his first-born son only three weeks ago.

Shnaan was the son of Shachiv Shnaan, who served as an Israeli Labor party MK from 2006 to 2012.
