It was cleared for publication today (Thursday) that the Shin Bet, IDF and Israel Police arrested over the past three months 9 Palestinians suspected of being involved in terrorist activities in the West Bank. Eight of the suspects are residents of the West Bank while the ninth is an East Jerusalem resident. In the next few days, the Chief Military Prosecution and Jerusalem District Prosecution are expected to file indictments against them.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the terror cell members set off many explosive devices in the West Bank in order to harm IDF soldiers in the past. They even planned to continue to harm IDF forces.

The Israeli security forces also discovered that the East Jerusalem resident, Ahmed Azela, was planning to smuggle two kilograms of gunpowder from the terror cell members in the West Bank into Israel’s capital city. The gunpowder was supposed to be used in order to make pipe bombs. During a raid, the Israeli security forces seized equipment from a lab the terror cell members used in order to make explosive devices. Additional explosive devices were also found in the lab.
