Israeli sentenced to 11 years in prison after stabbing Jew he mistook for Arab

Shlomo Haim Pinto was sentenced to 11 years in prison after being convicted of attempted murder. Approximately a year and a half ago, Pinto was charged after attempting to attack Arab citizens. He ended up stabbing a Jew that he mistook for an Arab.

Today (Monday), the Haifa District Court sentenced Shlomo Haim Pinto to 11 years in prison after being convicted of attempted murder with a racist motive. The sentence was given approximately a year and a half after Pinto was charged with attempting to attack Arab citizens with a knife and a hammer. He ended up stabbing a Jew that he mistook for an Arab.

Pinto was then charged with 2 attempts of murder with a racist motive. According to the charges, on the day of the attack he noticed a man who he thought was Arab and followed him. The same man entered a local bank branch, which prevented Pinto from attacking him.

He continued to look for victims and asked several people their identity. he noticed a Jewish man that he mistook for an Arab and stabbed him several times in his back, which led to moderate injuries. Pinto was arrested shortly after.
