Jaffa: Protesters burn tires following death of civilian from Israel Police gunfire

Jaffa residents are furious about the death of a young man last night by Israel Police gunfire. Protesters began burning tires and throwing rocks at police officers. Early this morning, the 21-year-old who was shot during a night chase by the Israel Police was pronounced dead.

Riots broke out in Jaffa this afternoon (Saturday) as masked men threw rocks and burned tires on Yeffet Street and at Haj Kahil Junction. The disturbances come after a 21-year-old Jaffa resident was killed last night by Israel Police gunfire during a night chase. As a result of the clashes, Yeffet Street is blocked to traffic at a number of segments.

Early this morning, a Yaffo resident in his 20s succumbed to his wounds in the hospital after being shot by Israel Police forces during a chase. An additional man in his 20s was moderately injured. The circumstances behind the incident were transferred for review by the Police Investigation Department, as is customary in such cases.
