During a visit to Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate on Friday with Likud activists, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat said that the residents of his city know how to deal with terrorists and terror attacks.

“We have our eyes open all the time,” said Barkat in a recording that Channel 2 News obtained. “There is a great deal of mutual responsibility in Jerusalem and when there is a terror attack, you will see people running towards the scene.”

“There are sometimes other places where people are running from the attack,” said Barkat. “Here, people run towards the attack. That is why a terror attack in Jerusalem is usually over in less than 60 seconds.”
