Today (Tuesday), Israeli security forces at the Mazmoriya checkpoint thwarted a terror attempt in Jerusalem. The force noticed that a vehicle heading into Israel had different front and back license plates and instructed the driver to pull over. There were 6 Palestinians without any identification in the car. A search of the vehicle discovered a bag filled with knifes, stun grenades and Molotov cocktails with flammable material inside them.

The force summoned a sapper, and the scene was closed off until the end of his examination. An initial investigation revealed that the suspects claimed that they intended to go to Jerusalem and carry out an attack. The suspects were transferred for questioning.

“Efforts to locate, prevent, and thwart terror attempts continue throughout Jerusalem,” stated the Israel Police. “With emphasis on the checkpoints around Jerusalem.”
