Israeli Foreign Ministry suggests Arabs live in Middle Ages
Lieberman calls for death sentence for Halamish terrorist who murdered 3 family membersIsraeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Wednesday that the Halamish terrorist who murdered three members of the Salomon family in July should be given a death penalty. “Any decision made will not return them to us,” said surviving family member Michal Salomon. The military prosecution demanded four life sentences and compensations.
Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has called for a death sentence ruling to be given to the Halamish terrorist who murdered three members of the Salomon family in July. “This is the only punishment that suits such a despicable act,” said Lieberman in a post on his Twitter account on Wednesday. “Jewish blood will not be abandoned! There is no place for terrorists, not even in prisons.”
Lieberman’s statement was posted prior to the presentation of terrorist Omar al-Abed’s case before the military court justices on Wednesday. The Salomon family survivors will arrive at the tribunal later today.
“We were with Lieberman two days ago during the meeting of the Forum of Bereaved Families,” explained widow Michal Salomon. “We asked him and Knesset members to vote in favor of amending the law and policies. For so many years, murderers have been sent to prison. It is not a deterrent and does not prevent the next murder.”
“Any decision made will not return them to us. The purpose is not us and our feelings, we don’t need to be satisfied, but the punishment may succeed in preventing the next murder,” continued Salomon. “That is why we think we should strive on every level to give the terrorist a death penalty after too many years and too many terror attacks that destroyed entire families.”
In August, Israeli security forces demolished part of the terrorist’s home. Two months ago, the Salomon family appealed to the Supreme Court, requesting that the entire house be demolished, after several of the terrorist's family members were indicted for complicity.
