13 people were arrested on Wednesday morning on suspicion of being involved in a major corruption scandal involving Israel Aerospace Industries. They are suspected of corruption-related crimes such as fraud, money laundering and breach of trust. According to the Israel Police’s suspicions, several IAI board members received bribes in exchange for promoting the interests of certain factories and suppliers.
The suspects include IAI employees, employees of private companies that supply services to IAI and a former senior-level IDF official “who is well known in the defense establishment.” It is suspected that the extensive corruption has been going on for a long period of time.
