Serious accident at Mount Herzl: Man electrocuted during preparations for ceremony

A man in his 20s was rushed to a Jerusalem hospital today in serious condition after he was electrocuted. The man was setting up for the state memorial ceremony.

A serious accident happened at Jerusalem’s Mount Herzl shortly before the state memorial ceremony for Israel’s fallen soldiers and terror attack victims. A man who was working on setting up the venue for the ceremony was electrocuted and lost consciousness. Magen David Adom paramedics rushed to the scene and treated him. He was transported to Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center in critical condition.

The man, who is about 25 years old, is in stable condition even though his situation is being described as critical. The accident is being investigated. The accident occurred just a few minutes before the inauguration ceremony for the new hall of remembrance at Israel’s national cemetery began.
