Netanyahu under the weather: Second round of police questioning delayedIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not be questioned regarding Case 4000 tomorrow because he is sick with strep throat. The questioning has been rescheduled for this weekend.
Police investigators will have to wait to question Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a second time regarding Case 4000 because the prime minister has strep throat. The second round of questioning was supposed to take place tomorrow (Monday) morning.
The questioning has been rescheduled for this weekend, pending Netanyahu’s medical state. Last week, Israel’s attorney general asked to summon the prime minister, his wife and possibly their son Yair for questioning in the case.
The police investigators want to confront the Netanyahu couple with the initial testimony of Nir Hefetz, Netanyahu’s former senior aide who recently turned state’s witness.
Case 4000, also known as the Bezeq Case, involves suspicions that Shaul Elovitch, the controlling shareholder of Bezeq, directed the Walla! news site, which he owns, to cover Netanyahu and his family in a positive light. In exchange, during his time as Israel’s communications minister, Netanyahu advanced policies that financially benefited Elovitch.
