Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit announced this evening (Wednesday) that within the next few days, the police inquiry into the submarine deal between Israel and the German conglomerate ThyssenKrupp will become a criminal investigation. During the inquiry, senior-level Israeli Defense Ministry officials and former senior-level Israeli Navy officials were questioned by police investigators.

When the inquiry becomes a criminal investigation, attorney David Shimron, businessman Miki Ganor and former Israeli Navy Commander Eli Marom are expected to be questioned. It is important to note that at the moment, the Israel Police is not considering Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a person of interest.
