Polish embassy in Tel Aviv vandalized with swastikas amid Holocaust controversyLess than a day after Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki claimed that “there were Jewish perpetrators” in the Holocaust, the Polish embassy in Tel Aviv was vandalized with deformed swastikas and anti-Polish slurs.
The Polish embassy in Tel Aviv was vandalized on Sunday morning with deformed swastikas and anti-Polish slurs. The Israel Police has launched an investigation into the matter. The slurs that were written in English on the embassy’s gates include “Polish shit.”
The vandalism comes just a day after Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki drew ire from Israel for claiming that “there were Polish perpetrators, as there were Jewish perpetrators” in the Holocaust. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed Morawiecki’s comment and even spoke to him over the phone about it. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu told his Polish counterpart that “the remarks that were made were unacceptable and that there was no basis for comparing the actions of Poles during the Holocaust to those of Jews.”
