The day after the deadly stabbing attack, al-Abed’s mother commented on her son’s actions, praising them. The mother said that she is proud of her son and that she “hopes Allah will spare and pity him.” She also claimed that the IDF raided her home and arrested another one of her sons.

In addition to arresting al-Abed’s relatives, IDF forces took dozens of wanted Palestinians throughout the West Bank into custody during overnight raids. An M16 rifle was also discovered in a car at the Reihan Crossing. The driver was taken in for questioning.
