Palestinian terrorist stabs 2 police officers at Herod’s Gate; Female officer in critical condition

The series of terror attacks that began on Friday afternoon continued this morning as two police officers were stabbed in Jerusalem’s Old City. One of the police officers was able to pull out his gun and neutralize the terrorist.

A terrorist stabbed a 45-year-old male police officer and a 38-year-old female police officer this morning (Monday) near Jerusalem’s Herod’s Gate. The female officer was critically injured while the male officer sustained moderate injuries. The terrorist was neutralized at the scene.

The terrorist is an East Jerusalem resident in his 20s. The terrorist was walking from the Damascus Gate towards Herod’s Gate when he saw the two police officers. He started to run towards them with a knife in his hand and stabbed them. The male police officer who was stabbed was able to pull out his gun and struggle with the terrorist. The male police officer shot the terrorist in order to neutralize him. The terrorist sustained serious injuries.

Paramedics who arrived on the scene treated the wounded. The female police officer was stabbed in the neck and transported to a local hospital in critical condition. She is currently sedated and on a respirator and expected to undergo surgery soon. The male police officer was transported to a different hospital. He is conscious and in moderate condition.
