Submarine Affair: Senior-level officials arrested, questioned

Today, several senior-level officials were arrested for questioning as part of the Submarine Affair. Former Deputy Head of the NSC was investigated on suspicion of leaking information.

Today (Sunday), it was revealed that former Deputy Head of the Israeli National Security Council (NSC) Atalia Rosenbaum was questioned under caution on suspicion of mediating bribery in the Submarine Affair.

According to suspicions, Rosenbaum leaked information from NSC meetings to state witness Miki Ganor in exchange for an apartment, which he didn’t buy her in the end. In the past, Rosenbaum also asked former Israeli Ambassador to Germany Yoram Ben-Zeev to meet with Ganor.

This morning, 6 other suspects were arrested as part of the affair, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s former Chief of Staff David Shiran, former IDF Navy Commander Eli Marom, and former Commander of Shayetet 13. According to estimates, other senior-level IDF officers are expected to be questioned in the upcoming days.
